Managing Director - Iain O’Neill
Iain has over 30 years senior management and Board experience in a wide range of industry sectors including Food & Drink, Chemical, Water & Environmental and Manufacturing.
Iain was a founding Director of a successful water treatment business selling into water treatment companies, facilities management companies, chemical companies and the Food and Drink industry. He has also started up a chemical manufacturing company and has been involved in a number of MBO’s.
Iain has experience in a variety of roles including business development, contract negotiation, production/operations management, technical/quality management and management consultancy.
Iain, a Microbiologist and Master Brewer, is a self motivated, results focussed individual with high energy levels and a passion for success.
Technical Director (Acting) - Patrick Phillips
Patrick is a member of the Par Equity Advisory Panel and an Investor Director on the Shaw Board. He is currently acting in this role until the appointment of a permanent Technical Director.
Patrick has over 35 years international management experience with multi-national companies. He has worked in R&D, IT and Financial Services sectors in roles demanding strong commercial, technical and leadership skills.
During his career, he has held a number of technical design roles before moving into technical management. These included five years as a Process Control Systems Development Engineer with English China Clays and ten years in electro-mechanical product R&D with NCR in Canada and Burroughs in the USA.
His technical management experience includes Development Engineering, Software Development, Project Management and Quality Assurance.
Innovations and New Technology Director - Gary Shaw
Gary Shaw founded Shaw Water Engineering and Technologies in October 1997 specifically to operate as the Scottish representative for what was Severn Trent Services (Instrumentation Division). Gary has wide technical and market knowledge within the water and waste water treatment industry.
Gary has been active in water treatment for more than 20 years, including middle and senior management and later as part owner of small specialist companies.
In January 2006, Gary fundamentally changed the direction of the business to become an R&D company focussed on developing the Crypto Tect and D-Tect micro organism detection platforms.
Gary is a keen inventor and continues to offer novel and innovative ideas into Shaw that will see the company develop into a leader in modern microbial detection.
Operations Director - John Paterson
John Paterson, a former Army Officer, has extensive project and business management experience and manages the company commercialisation programme.
Sales & Marketing Director - Jim O’Hagan
Jim has over 30 years experience in technology and technology services sales, sales management and marketing roles.
Jim was a founding director of a successful Scottish based start-up IT solutions and services business. Selling into public sector, oil industry and financial services clients and, laterally, for a global self-service solutions business, Jim managed million £+ solutions and services sales to multi-national financial and retail organisations.
Jim’s career has spanned three years as a Technical Sales Consultant at Comshare, 19 years as founding and joint MD of Abtex Computer Systems and 12 years as a Global Account Director for NCR.
Jim has experience in company start-up, mergers, acquisitions, fund raising and company sale.
